Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Ford F-150 HLY66ZR- Video
How's it going everybody Today we are going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. The Destination E is going to be designed for e-bikes at buying. It has a weight capacity of 70 pounds per bike. It's gonna hold it up primarily with these trays and cradles down here on the bottom. And our primary point of contact is going to be these rotated padded jaws here on our center mast which is going to hold our bike securely. But because it does make frame contact we'd recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes but because it is able to rotate so much, it should work for a lot of your alternative frame style bikes. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Maverick- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Skaha 2-Bike Rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2022 Ford Maverick. This is gonna be a platform-style bike rack, holding the bike in these wheel cradles and primarily by our front tire. That's gonna be the thing that keeps our bike upright, and for the most part, holds it in place. It doesn't make any frame contact with the bike, so it makes it a great option for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and with the 60 pound weight capacity per bike, it can handle some e-bikes too. Now, like many other kinda higher end platform racks, this does have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Edge- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at E-trailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2022 Ford Edge. The FullTilt is going to be a hanging style bike rack capable of holding five bikes. In this case, up to 150 pounds total. So because it is a hanging style rack that's going to make primary contact and hold onto our bikes by the top tube here. So if you have a carbon frame bike, we would recommend against using this because it will make that frame contact. more

We're focusing specifically on the fit with this vehicle. Pros, cons, ups and downs. So first thing we're gonna point out is the fact that this bike rack is designed for e-bike usage. So it does have a airway capacity of 60 pounds per bike. It's going to hold onto our bikes primarily with this frame hook here on our center mast as well as one strap on the back one strap on the front so it gets a really nice hold. more

The Sport Rider SE is popular because it has a lot going for it as far as capacity. It's able to support 80 pounds per bike. It's gonna be a platform style bike rack, so it's gonna hold the bike up primarily by the tray and these cradles here. Primary point of contact holding onto your bike is going to be these frame clamps here, frame hooked rather, on this center mast. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we have the Yakima OnRamp two bike platform rack with a ramp. We're gonna take a look at how it fits on a 2022 Ford Edge. So this is a pretty popular bike rack because of its design where the ramp is included and stored on the rack. So if you have extra heavy electric bikes and you need an easier way to get them onto the bike rack 'cause you don't want to lift them as high, well, this might be a good option for you. There are some downsides to it with how it fits on the vehicle, but there's some really good pros as well. more

So you have this very unique goalpost design which allows you to step into the rack and get your bikes. So if you have bikes in different shapes and sizes, we have a pretty medium range, but also pretty good weight capacity of 40 pounds per bike. Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination Four-Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Ford Edge. So the Destination Four is one of my favorite racks when it comes to carrying around a lot of bikes without taking a lot of space and without spending a lot of money because this is gonna be a quick and easy way to get bikes of different shapes and sizes and, from experience, I do know that it works really well with your smaller children's bikes as well. So if you want to upgrade from your hanging rack and you want more stability, I would highly recommend looking at the Destination Four. There are some downsides to this rack though and with the Ford Edge, we're gonna talk about that. The main downside is that you cannot tilt this rack away. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp and seeing how it fits in the back of our 2020 Ford F-150. This platform style bike rack is gonna be able to support up to two bikes and be designed to carry e-bikes. It's got a 66 pound weight capacity per bike and holds the bike by clamping around the frame. We've got this piece right here which slides up and down the mast, easier to move if you loosen the hand knob, and can rotate around to adapt to different frame styles. This strap will wrap around the frame and hold it into the padded cradle right here. more

And it's going to be holding onto our bike primarily by these rotated padded clamps that go up and down our center mast. They do swivel and they are padded, but we still don't recommend using bikes like carbon frame bikes because it could potentially damage the frame as that's where our main point of contact is. Now, the after party's gonna be pretty unique in the sense that it has this swinging base. So, it has a tilting feature like many other bike racks do but the swing arm is what makes it work so well with the Maverick, because of where the hitch is located and the size of the tailgate. A lot of bike racks, if they do have a tilting feature, don't clear with the tailgate so you don't really get to use that function. more

The SuperClamp is a platform-style bike rack that holds the bike in these wheel cradles, has some wheel straps there as secondary points of contact, and primarily holds the bike upright using two wheel hooks. It has zero frame contacts, it's gonna be good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be able to handle some e-bikes too. With this, you do have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. There's a handle that says pull right at the end that we can use to ease the whole rack down. more

It does make frame contact so carbon frame isn't gonna be the best option for this bike rack. With it though, these cradles do slide up and down independently from each other and rotate 360 degrees. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack on the back of our 2022 Ford Maverick. The RidgeBack is a hanging-style bike rack that can carry up to four bikes. Because it's a hanging rack, we do probably wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because hanging by the frame can damage it. With alternative frame bikes and kids bikes, we're gonna wanna make sure we get a bike adapter bar to make sure that the bike either hangs level or in the case of the kids' bikes, make sure that it fits over this dual-arm design. These dual arms aren't super friendly to those smaller kids' frames, so that's just something to be aware of. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer Platform Style Bike Rack on the back of our 2022 Ford Maverick. Now, this is gonna be a platform rack like I mentioned before. It's gonna hold the bike in these cradles, there's two wheel cradles and a front wheel hook, that's gonna be a thing that primarily holds the bike upright, and then there's a back wheel strap as a secondary point of contact. That means there's gonna be zero frame contact, so for our carbon frame bike we're using today, it's gonna be just fine, it's also gonna work really well with alternative frames. One thing you do wanna keep in mind though with this version of the rack is that it's not the best choice for e-bikes, it only has a 40 pound capacity per bike, so it is something to kinda be mindful of. more

To start off using the bike rack, you want to get it unfolded. It's already installed in the hitch and it's really lightweight and easy to get in there. So from here we just wanna unfold it and get the bike loaded up. There's an anti-rattle, threaded pin on the side that you can remove and that'll open it up to tilt or fold flat rather and then you can resecure that once it's folded out. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Maverick- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro and seeing how it fits on our 2022 Ford Maverick. This is gonna be a hanging style bike rack that holds the bike up here by the frame hanging down below it. We've got two rubber straps over top the frame, keeping it down into our deep cradles as well as a third one around the seat post limiting our side to side movement. That's gonna help with bike to bike contact. And although it doesn't eliminate the movement it does help quite a bit, and because of those deeper cradles, it does eliminate a lot more movement than some other hanging style racks do. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium on our 2022 Ford Maverick. This is gonna be a hanging style bike rack that can carry up to four bikes and the bike's gonna hang by the frame. Now that is gonna mean we want to avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage the frame and with alternative frame bikes, we probably wanna pick up a bike adapter bar to make sure it hangs level. Otherwise, though, it's gonna work well for a wide variety of bikes, the biggest being kids' bikes because the arms actually narrow together at the end of the rack so it's more accommodating for those small frames. more

To get this bike rack installed, we've got to get it into the hitch first. It will fit in a two inch by two inch or an inch and a quarter receiver tube. We've got our two inch receiver tube today and it uses the included adapter sleeve. Now on the front mast of the bike rack there is a black lever that I can pull to release the shank and actually fold it out and it'll lock in place. more

Welcome to etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack here on a 2020 Ford Escape. The Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack is gonna be a hanging style bike rack as you can see, and it can carry up to five bikes, which makes it a fantastic option for the Ford Escape. Now, let's take a look at how it fits on there. From directly behind the Escape, looking at how the rack fits on here, you can see that your back windshield is gonna be pretty much obstructed, especially when you do load all the way up to five bikes on here. Your backup camera and your license plate will have reduced visibility, your third brake light from your cowling should still be visible to the drivers behind you, but with five bikes on here, again, with the tires hanging off to both sides, your taillights will be obstructed. more

Swagman XTC2 TILT 2 Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Welcome to etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Swagman XTC2 Tilt here on a 2020 Ford Escape. Right out the gate, the big things to note for this bike rack are you gonna have a 35-pound weight capacity per cradle. It's not gonna be compatible with Class I hitches for the inch and a quarter. It's only gonna work with the Class II and it's gonna have the frame hook to hold it down inside of the wheel hoops, which is gonna make it incompatible with carbon frame bikes. Taking a look at how the rack sits on the back of the Escape here today, you can see that your back windshield is gonna have most of its visibility retained. more

Swagman Current 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Welcome to etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Swagman Current Bike Rack here on the 2020 Ford Escape. The Swagman Current is uniquely designed to handle electric bikes, so it's gonna have a 60 pound weight capacity per cradle in the two inch by two inch hitches, and it's gonna use a wheel hook design to secure the bike down into the two cradles. The hooks on here are very nice, because they do have such a thick padding. However, because they are hooks that clamp down on the frame, they will make it incompatible with any carbon frame bikes you may have. Looking at how the rack sits on here with a bike loaded up, we can see that our third brake light cowling is still fairly visible to any drivers behind us. more

Thule Helium 2 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Howdy everyone, John here and today we're taking a look at the Thule Helium on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great wheel tire hold for your lighter bikes. So let's take a closer look. It's able to hold by the wheels, so any of your odd shaped frame or your carbon frames are gonna be perfect for this. And in my opinion, whenever it comes to handles for these arms, this is probably one of the best for the wheel hold type. It's going to be a little bit goofy to push down, but overall, once you get it, it's much easier to work with this than some others, like the Inno Tire Hold, which has it down here, so you have to hold onto the arms as you push forward and press the button at the same time. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Escape- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Freedom on the back of our 2022 Ford Escape. The Saris Freedom is a platform style bike rack. It's gonna hold the bike in these wheel cradles at the bottom and by our frame up top it's gonna be a cradle with a strap that runs around the frame to hold it in place. Any sort of frame contact means we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes but with the way this slides up and down along the mast independently from the other one and rotates 360 degrees it is gonna be able to adapt to alternative frame bikes. The other great thing about this is that it does support a weight of 60 pounds per bike. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp EX on the back of our 2022 Ford Escape. The SuperClamp is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these cradles by the wheels. And then in those cradles, we've got wheel straps up, but primarily we've got two wheel hooks on each tire. So that's gonna create no frame contact on the bike, making it good for carbon frame, alternative frame. And with a 60-pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be good for some e-bikes too. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Escape- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack's Destination 2 Bike Rack, on the back of our 2022 Ford Escape. The Destination is a platform-style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays. We've got some wheel straps down at the bottom that pull the bike down and in, and then we've got a cradle for the frame up top, with a strap run around the frame to hold it upright. Overall, we get a pretty strong hold on the bike, and for a more entry-level rack, this is one that I really like. I recommended it to my own brother and a lot of family members because I think it's a great value. more

Yakima StageTwo 2 Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima Stage two, two-bike platform rack here on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is a heavy duty bike rack that can carry your heavy duty bikes. You have a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, so, it's gonna be great for your heavy electric bikes. And we also have an added ramp that you can get additionally to help make your bike loading and unloading a little bit easier. But since it is a front wheel mount this is also gonna be great for your carbon fiber frame bikes, as well as, anything with an odd-shaped frame bike as well. One of the great features about this rack is that you can tilt it away with the bikes loaded on there, and I like where the handle is at to tilt it away, it's right here. more

Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Swagman Chinook two bike platform rack for an 1 1/4" and 2" hitches on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is a heavy duty bike rack that's gonna allow you to carry bikes of up to 45 pounds per bike. It is a frame hold, so if you have a carbon frame style bike or anything with a weird shaped frame, this might not be the one for you. But this does have a lot of great value considering its price point because you can tilt it away with the bikes still loaded. And that way we can access our hatch, grab anything we might need, even sit in there and change our shoes. So we have three attachment points keeping your bike on the rack. more

Hi there, everyone. John here and today we're taking a look at the RockyMountain GuideRail Two Bike on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great way to get your heavier bikes, maybe your odd shape frame bikes and your carbon frame bikes, out onto the road so you can get to riding. Now this is gonna have a 60 pound weight capacity, which is gonna be able to hold a majority of the bikes you may be getting, including your heavier mountain bikes and then some of your e-bikes. Along with that, like I said, it'll be able to hold carbon frame and odd shape frame bikes, because it holds the bike by the wheels. Right here it is one of these wheel hold bike racks, and I'm gonna undo this just to let you take a look at it. more

Yakima OnRamp E-Bike Platform Rack with Ramp Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Howdy everyone. John here, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great choice if you need a bike rack that is going to be able to hold heavier bikes, but also have a way of getting those bikes off that bike rack as well. Now when it comes to weight capacity it's going to have 66 pounds for each bike. That's gonna be relatively good. Gonna be able to hold some of your heavier mountain bikes or any of your electric bikes that you may run into. more

Howdy everyone. John here, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great choice if you want an ease of use bike rack for E-bikes. Taking a closer look at it, it actually is going to have a pretty good weight capacity 70 pounds per bike, and it's also going to have a slew of features. Let's take a closer look. Now, like I said, it's going to have a pretty good weight capacity which is going to be able to hold everything from your heavier mountain bikes to your E-bikes, but it unfortunately will not be able to hold any of your fat tire bikes, because it only has a three inch tire width capacity. more
